Board Members Present:  Linn County – Bill Micheel; Cedar Rapids – Craig Hanson; Marion – Darin Andresen; Hiawatha – Mark Powers; Robins – Vince Bading; Linn SWCD – Bruce Frana

Others Present:  Rick Sandstrom – Creekview Coves Homeowners Association; Todd Steigerwaldt – City of Marion; Jeff Tisl – IDALS Regional Coordinator; Robin Kash – Neighborhood Network News; Jennifer Fencl - ECICOG

Approval of Minutes:  Motion by Powers, second by Frana to approve the minutes from September 12, 2012. Motion carried.

Project Update:  Fencl provided an update of the activities since the last board meeting including: distribution of original copies of the signed 28E WMA Agreement to members, Phase II funding award and the contract extension from IEDA, communicating with various DNR staff to get the data collection process started for the planning process, listed upcoming meetings and events related to the WMA.

Work Plan:  Fencl distributed the planning process work plan submitted with the Phase II proposal for review and comment. Discussion followed.

Committee Structure:  Micheel distributed an organizational chart and description of the proposed committees. Discussion followed.  

Website:  Discussed the current webpage set up for the Indian Creek WMA and options for designing and hosting a more interactive website. Discussed the option of using social media as an alternative to a website.

Logo Design:  Micheel described the process Linn County used to develop a logo for their rural land use plan. Discussion about developing a logo followed. Motion by Powers, second by Bading to research firms capable of designing a logo for the ICWMA and obtain bids for the work. Motion carried.

Public Comments:  Mr. Sandstrom advised the WMA to pick a project management tool and leaders for each task. Expressed concern that information will get lost due to the long timeline.

Adjourn:  Motion by Hanson, second by Powers to adjourn. Motion carried.
