Call to Order at 3:05 pm
Approval of Minutes: Motion by Bender, second by Beck to approve the minutes from October 13, 2014. Motion carried.
Grant Opportunities: Fencl provided an overview of some upcoming grant opportunities and a project to decrease erosion on property owned by Prairiewoods that Cedar Rapids is partnering on. The outreach component to the upland neighborhood of the proposed project could serve as a demonstration project for future projects. Motion by Beck, second by Cooper to provide a letter of support from the ICWMA for the applications submitted by the City of Cedar Rapids in partnership with Prairiewoods to both the Urban Water Quality grant program and the WIRB grant program. Motion carried.
Organizational Management: Fencl discussed some options for continuing some level of organizational management for the ICWMA past June 2015. There was also discussion of how other watershed districts in MN determine budget contributions and of other data that might be helpful in this discussion. Since the timeline is very short for submitting budgets, board members requested that some options be developed using total watershed area, assessed property value, and amount of property in the flood hazard area to discuss at another Board meeting next week.
Next meeting: The next ICWMA Board meeting was set for 11:30 am Tuesday, December 9th at the Cedar Rapids City Services Center.
Typical schedule is the second Wednesday of the middle month (February, May, August, November) each quarter at 1:30 pm hosted at Cedar Rapids City Services Center.
Adjourn: Motion by Bading, second by Cooper to adjourn at 4:32 pm. Motion carried.
