A news release describing the workshop is attached. The Indian Creek WMA was able to announce and describe our efforts to establish a 28E Agreement as well as host a Watershed District Manager from Minnesota to provide background for forming a watershed group. A workshop agenda is attached.

Committee members attending the workshop/meeting:  Marion – Todd Steigerwaldt; Linn County – Bill Micheel; Cedar Rapids – David Scanlan & Tera Prucha; Hiawatha – Mark Powers; Robins – Matt Johnson; Linn County SWCD – John Bruene, Jon Gallagher & Bruce Frana; ECICOG – Jennifer Fencl

Project Announcement:  Jennifer gave a brief presentation at the workshop about the Indian Creek Watershed Management Authority project and the motivation behind the effort. The Committee submitted their top three priorities in forming a WMA in Indian Creek Watershed (list attached).

Presentation for the WMA:  Bev Nordby from the Cedar River Watershed District in Austin, MN, presented her experience in forming a Watershed District years ago. The presentation highlighted what can be accomplished with a watershed approach to management. The Indian Creek WMA Committee had several good questions and the discussion was helpful for those in attendance.
